Overview
Responsible for day-to-day network administration, network security, and technology research within the Information and Communications Technology Service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support network hardware and software within WLAN, LAN, WAN, and unified communications infrastructure.
- Manage and administer network firewalls.
- Maintain wireless controllers, access points, switches, and routers.
- Supervise installation, configuration, testing, and deployment of network hardware and software.
- Manage operation, technical support, and monitoring of network components.
- Supervise troubleshooting of routing and wireless network problems and conduct security audits.
- Liaise with other groups for network connectivity.
- Ensure 24x7 operations and monitoring of assigned systems.
- Identify needs for new systems or re-engineering of existing systems.
- Implement backups of switch/router configurations.
- Collect statistics on network infrastructure performance and reliability.
- Write and maintain documentation for network configurations.
- Provide technical advice to network users and coordinate user support.
- Organize and conduct user training sessions.
- Set guidelines for problem reporting, resolution, and follow-up.
- Oversee network security, VPN, and firewalls.
- Act as technical escalation point for unified communications issues.
- Design, implement, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco Unified Communications Systems.
- Manage and troubleshoot Cisco voice gateways, devices, and IP phones.
- Develop, revise, and update RFPs and TORs.
- Review Technical Proposals and provide recommendations.
- Evaluate vendor products and develop network engineering specifications.
- Strive for standardized technology implementation.
- Act as a subject matter expert for cloud-native technologies.
- Evaluate new and emerging technologies and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Required Experience
- A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant and progressively responsible experience in the information technology field is required.
- Experience in network security, Wireless Network, LAN/WAN and IPT systems design, implementation and operation is required.
- Working experience in MPLS network deployment, routing and switching, troubleshooting network related problems and network security within multi-tenant environment is desirable.
Qualifications
- Completion of high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Supplemental courses/technical certificate in information technology or related field is required.
- Certification in Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise is required.
- ITIL 4 Certification is required.
