Overview
Provide expert-level technical and policy support to UNICEF Kazakhstan and national partners in mainstreaming child rights and child-centered resilience into climate and environmental governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert-level technical and policy support to UNICEF Kazakhstan and its national partners in mainstreaming child rights and child-centered resilience into climate and environmental governance frameworks.
- Ensure national strategies explicitly consider the vulnerabilities, needs, and potential contributions of children and young people.
- Integrate child-sensitive indicators and safeguards into monitoring systems.
- Support the development of inclusive climate financing proposals that address children’s risks and rights.
- Embed climate change adaptation and environmental sustainability into the education system.
- Provide technical support to the Government of Kazakhstan in ensuring children and adolescents are protected from adverse climate change effects and engaged as agents of change.
- Provide expert support during and after the Regional Ecological Summit 2026.
- Support UNICEF local level climate and environmental programming.
Required Experience
At least 5 years of experience working on climate change or on environmental issues, with a focus on children and youth or social services.
Qualifications
Advanced degree in climate change, environmental science and social sciences
