Overview

The role supports the UNICEF Child Protection team by strengthening awareness on child protection, mental health, and parenting through social media and direct engagement with children, adolescents, youth, and caregivers.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop key messages on child protection, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and parenting.
  • Prepare user friendly/ child friendly versions of messages for dissemination.
  • Develop a monthly content plan with concrete objectives.
  • Monitor daily comments and messages on social media and provide responses.
  • Support the rollout of the Adolescent Kit.
  • Facilitate and lead adolescent and youth sessions.
  • Assist in setting up of adolescent support hubs.
Required Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in professional in developing a wide array of online content (story, blogs, photo, video, etc.).
  • Experience in creation of key messages/ content development – particularly related to MHPSS and child protection.
  • Experience organizing campaigns for children and adolescents.
  • Experience working with adolescents and youths.
  • Hands on knowledge about social media insights.
  • Experience in doing the content analysis.
  • Knowledge on child protection will be an asset.
  • Experience facilitating trainings and peer group sessions for children and adolescents.
Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism, Social Science, Digital Media, Marketing, Public relations or other fields related to the work of UNICEF.
