Overview
The Public Engagement Consultant will strengthen the UN Road Safety Fund's visibility, public engagement, and strategic communications. The role involves ensuring timely production of high-quality digital content, flagship publications, and coordinated communications for key events.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of the UNRSF public engagement strategy.
- Plan, draft, edit, and disseminate high-quality content for digital platforms.
- Translate technical project information into compelling content.
- Manage the editorial calendar and oversee content scheduling.
- Develop strategic content packages for donor visibility and impact storytelling.
- Oversee the full production cycle of flagship communications products.
- Lead the development of advocacy tools and project briefs.
- Coordinate communications planning for major events.
- Liaise with stakeholders to collect project data and stories.
- Ensure information flows and content pipelines are well-coordinated.
- Work closely with design and multimedia specialists.
- Participate in internal coordination meetings and communication networks.
Required Experience
- A minimum of three (5) years of progressively responsible experience in strategic communications, public information, media relations, partnerships management, resource mobilization, or advocacy at the international level is required.
- Experience supporting donor visibility, public engagement, or communications with governments, private sector, civil society, or international organizations is highly desirable.
- Experience in coordinating communications for high-level events, conferences, or campaigns is desirable.
- Experience working within the United Nations system, another international organization, or a multi-stakeholder environment on road safety is an advantage.
Qualifications
- An advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Public Relations, International Relations, Development Studies, Marketing, or a related field is required.
- A first-level university degree in the above fields, combined with additional relevant experience, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.
