Overview
Support logistics activities to enable the efficient delivery of food and non-food items. Compile and follow up regularly with partners on their logistics plan/forecasts for incoming cargo.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to logistics operations and activities.
- Support timely ordering and delivery of commodities and supplies.
- Support management of logistics vendors’ contracting activities.
- Respond to technical queries/requests for support.
- Contribute to budget preparation, monitoring and revision.
- Assist in monitoring inventory management processes.
- Assist in management of commodity accounting data quality and integrity.
- Support operational pipeline analyses, assessments and operational planning.
- Process documentation for execution of logistics operations.
- Collect and compile data, produce and/or contribute to reports.
- Liaise with internal and limited number of external stakeholders.
- Provide guidance to other support staff.
- Perform other related duties, as required.
Required Experience
- At least five (5) years of professional experience in humanitarian logistics.
- Experience and readiness to support emergency response and hard to reach areas.
- Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management experience.
- Background in warehouse management, transport (uni or multimodal), customer service or sales force.
- Ability to assess performance of third-party logistics providers.
- Experience analysing data (on commodities, funds, etc.) and drafting reports.
- Willingness to work in dangerous or insecure locations.
Qualifications
- Completion of secondary school education.
- A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area.
