Overview
The Case Worker is responsible for implementing activities related to individual case management through a home-based approach, supporting vulnerable children from all nationalities and legal statuses within specified regions. The role involves working with the child, their family, community, and service providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the identification of cases, outreach, and dissemination of referral pathways.
- Assess the child’s current social, biological, and psychological situation, including improvements, risks, supporting social environment, and innate characteristics.
- Refer to relevant services and maintain updated information on service providers.
- Follow up on children at risk of separation or unaccompanied children.
- Develop multiple and flexible case plans.
- Maintain confidential documentation, including physical filings, soft documents, reports, and CPIMS.
- Ensure timely feedback and reporting to the line manager on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Provide cash assistance according to national standards and follow up on its usage.
- Provide specialized psychosocial support activities when needed.
- Work as a team member, ensuring proper communication internally through case meetings and conferences.
- Coordinate internally with other sectors for a holistic approach.
- Coordinate externally with other agencies and partners to ensure appropriate implementation of activities.
- Ensure strict adherence to child protection principles and safeguarding.
Required Experience
- 2 years of experience in child protection case management.
- Participated in alternative care and other child protection related training.
- Worked with separated and unaccompanied children.
- Experience in working with children at risk and families.
- Experience in case management in emergency response.
- Experience working in an emergency context.
- Experience in working with CPIMS systems for data management.
- Understanding of social welfare systems and child protection mechanisms in Lebanon.
- Experience in implementing CP activities specifically in the north.
- Experience in coordination with external stakeholders and service providers.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, social sciences or any related field.
