Overview
The consultant will assist the Chemicals and Health Branch in executing the Supply Chains Integrated Programme by delivering an aligned event programme and curating a cross-sector group of speakers and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a high-level event programme integrating priority themes and communicating objectives.
- Curate a balanced cross-sector group of speakers and stakeholders.
- Produce a high-level event structure and run-of-show.
- Provide strategic guidance on event positioning.
- Shape the event narrative and integrate cross-cutting themes.
- Recommend session formats for cross-sector dialogue.
- Prepare session briefs.
- Identify, assess, and shortlist speakers and participants.
- Ensure balanced representation across regions, sectors, and perspectives.
- Document key outcomes from stakeholder consultations.
- Map stakeholder influence and relevance.
- Draft speaker briefing notes.
- Support speaker engagement.
- Produce a high-level run-of-show with timing, transitions, and responsibilities.
- Ensure event structure supports strategic messaging and engagement.
- Draft a session-by-session flow with coordination notes.
- Outline operational considerations for fashion show integration.
- Coordinate with UNEP teams and partners.
- Provide support in stakeholder consultations and meetings.
- Support other tasks as required.
Required Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainability, circularity and circular economy, or related area is required.
- Demonstrated experience with event programme design and strategic content development.
- Demonstrated capacity to synthesize complex sustainability themes into clear narratives and engage diverse audiences, including senior-level stakeholders.
- Experience working on topics related to chemicals and waste management and to sectors such as fashion and construction is a strong asset.
- Experience working in/with the GEF or with UN agencies is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in business management, environmental or sustainability studies, events management, or relevant social sciences (including law, psychology, or communications).
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
