Support the fund allocation process, including priority setting, reviews, monitoring, and reporting. Assist in the eligibility process for organizations and contribute to studies on humanitarian issues.
A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian affairs, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, rehabilitation, development, is required, or the successful completion of the Young Professionals Programme Examination (YPP)/United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P). Experience in humanitarian financing, e.g. grant management, project management, fundraising, and donor relations for humanitarian programmes, is required. Humanitarian experience in the field (actual setting where a mission and/or project is being implemented) in emergency situations (complex emergency or natural disaster) is required. Experience in a humanitarian context within the UN common system or in a comparable international organization is desirable.
An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in political science, social science, international studies, public administration, economics, engineering, earth sciences or a related field, is required. A first-level university degree in combination with an additional two (2) years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A first-level university degree in political science, social science, international studies, public administration, economics, engineering, earth sciences or a related field. Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is an advantage. (Candidates for this position must have passed the United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the G to P Examination).
