Overview
To produce a comprehensive visual archive for the Silk Road Journey 2026, serving as the foundation for a feature documentary, a short documentary, and daily social media assets to drive global awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- - Collaboration with Production Partners to ensure footage meets narrative structure, technical specifications, and stylistic guidelines.
- - Serve as Director of Photography, capturing cinematic 4K+ footage of landscapes, interviews, and caravan movements.
- - Film high-quality interviews with government officials, pastoralists, and scientists, and capture footage of rangelands, pastoralists, and campaign events.
- - Execute aerial filming of rangelands and other ecosystems using a drone.
- - Deliver daily high-quality "rushes" or short clips for social media channels.
- - Manage all camera equipment, data offloading, and backups.
Required Experience
- - Minimum 7 years of professional experience as a videographer.
- - Three of those years must be with a major television channel and/or an international agency.
- - A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in documentary filmmaking, photojournalism, or broadcast media.
- - Experience filming in remote, outdoor environments.
- - Experience filming rural communities.
- - Ability to work in a multicultural environment and a multidisciplinary team.
- - Willingness to travel to remote sites in the location of the project.
Qualifications
- - A first-level university degree in film production, media studies, journalism, or related area.
- - Technical certification in cinematography or drone operation may be accepted in lieu of a degree with two additional years of experience.
- - Valid drone pilot certification may be required.
