Overview
The consultant will contribute to the knowledge sharing component of a project addressing climate change impacts on water resources in Jordan and Lebanon. The role involves supporting knowledge exchange workshops, drafting knowledge sharing documents, and updating project communication channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of a closing event workshop including assisting in development of the agenda, preparing presentation and knowledge material for workshop, supporting organization and logistics.
- Review project dedicated webpage on ESCWA’s website and the community of practice dedicated website and the Resilient Water Solutions Against Climate Change in Jordan and Lebanon dedicated website, identifying list of needed updates and in coordination with project coordinator and ESCWA media team and project partners support update of website with drafting of relevant material and providing material to be uploaded.
- Support the AFSD project related side event by coordinating content and logistical support for speakers.
- Support the World Urban Forum project related side event by coordinating content and logistical support for speakers.
- Support closing activities for the Urban Water and Climate Resilience virtual Community of Practice including development of regional inventory of related projects and webinar on the development and use of urban observatories in Jordan and Lebanon
- Draft media content for social media outreach, ensuring wider visibility for workshops, reports and key project milestones.
- Support drafting of final project report capturing major outputs, challenges, lessons learned and potential upscaling and sustainability of knowledge sharing activities.
- Perform adhoc tasks as requested by project coordinator.
Required Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience in the areas of climate change, sustainable development, water related topics, including at least 1 year experience working at the community level in the Arab region is required. Experience in communicating environmental issues and working with local stakeholder groups is desirable.
Qualifications
Master’s degree or equivalent in sustainable development, environmental science, water resources management, natural resources management, agriculture or related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
