Overview
The Movement Operations Assistant (Field Support) is responsible for undertaking field support activities related to the organized movement of persons requiring international migration assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake field support activities in assigned areas such as airports, transit centers, or sub-offices.
- Perform airport services including verifying documentation, assisting with airport formalities, and escorting individuals.
- Assist individuals at transit centers or third-party facilities with sign-in, verification, orientation, and issue resolution.
- Enter and update relevant data in appropriate systems and report issues to supervisors.
- Provide assistance at transit centers and third-party facilities for extended periods, including overnight and weekends.
- Coordinate transportation from consolidation points, transit centers, and third-party facilities.
- Assist with baggage sorting, tagging, and handling, and escort individuals on transportation.
- Provide selection mission support, exit permit support, and interpretation services.
- Provide feedback on work accomplished and inform supervisors of issues.
- Undertake duty travel as required for meetings, trainings, and programme activities.
- Demonstrate understanding of applicable SOPs, systems, and databases.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of paperwork.
- Uphold RMM Protection Mainstreaming Minimum Standards and IOM Standards of Conduct.
- Alert supervisors of any non-compliance.
Required Experience
- High school diploma with 4 years of work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in social science, International Relations, Regional Studies or a related field with 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Prior Movement Operations or transportation experience is strongly preferred.
Qualifications
High school diploma or Bachelor’s degree in social science, International Relations, Regional Studies or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
