Overview

The role involves supporting the uploading of legislative provisions and case law onto the SHERLOC knowledge management portal, as well as assisting with document drafting and event organization related to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC).


Key Responsibilities
  • Upload a minimum of 240 legislative entries or strategies and 6 cases onto SHERLOC, focusing on environmental crimes.
  • Draft documents relating to the UNTOC COP, including speaking notes and powerpoint presentations.
  • Support the organization of UNTOC COP events, including informal consultations and a launch event for a legislative guide on forest crime.
  • Assist in reviewing, editing, and drafting other documents, such as a legislative guide on combating fraud, fundraising strategies, and project proposals.
  • Participate in bilateral SHERLOC consultations during the UNTOC COP.
  • Deliver presentations of SHERLOC to Member States and individual contributors.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of one year of progressively responsible relevant experience in analysis of legislation and/or legal research, preferably in the area of crime prevention and criminal justice and/or with a focus on organized crime or closely related issues is required.
  • Previous experience working with knowledge management portals such as legal databases is required.
  • Previous work experience in international organizations is desirable.
  • Previous work experience in supporting intergovernmental processes is desirable.
  • Previous experience with website content management systems is desirable.
Qualifications

• A high school degree or equivalent is required.

Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
