Overview
Provide support for the day-to-day activities of Protection from violence operations in Konduga. Build and maintain trust relationships with target communities and conduct community-level protection needs assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain trust relationships with target communities.
- Conduct community-level protection needs assessments and protection monitoring.
- Contribute to the identification and internal referral of individuals/households with specific needs.
- Support the development of gender- and age-sensitive awareness materials.
- Raise awareness on key protection related issues among beneficiaries and target communities.
- Provide beneficiaries and target communities with information and orientation about existing services.
- Undertake detailed assessments of beneficiaries.
- Prepare intervention plans, including care plans and case summaries.
- Ensure that all data and information pertaining to protection monitoring are handled in strict confidence.
- Identify vulnerable beneficiaries with special needs and suggest the best type of assistance.
- Assist in compilation of information and reports on achievements.
- Report internally on weekly and monthly achievements; and for urgent cases, daily.
Required Experience
- Experience from working directly with affected/local communities within an international or local organization in a humanitarian context.
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
- Previous experience in conducting community-level protection needs assessments and protection monitoring is desirable but not essential.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of international standards, and protection fundamental concepts and guiding principles, is desirable but not essential.
Qualifications
- University degree/HND in Social Sciences Courses
- Mastery of IT tools (MS Office package, internet, e-mail, etc.)
