Overview
The Finance Officer supports the Human Mobility Hub by ensuring compliant and efficient finance operations. The role manages day-to-day financial processes, has overall responsibility for accurate financial accounting and payments, and contributes to monthly closing and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Carries out daily bookkeeping utilizing the NRC accounting system and ensures accountancy records are booked in a timely manner.
- Ensures timely payment of staff salaries, contractors, suppliers, partners, and other expenditures.
- Prepares and supports the monthly financial closing of HMH office accounting books.
- Provides finance verification of purchase and payment requests up to his/her authorization limit.
- Leads on preparation and assistance on Internal and/or External Audits and other financial documentation revision.
- Reviews and validates Implementing Partners (IP) reports and accompanying supporting documents.
- Provides support related to financial training to Implementing Partners (IP) and contributes to building their capacities.
- Maintains Petty Cash for the Hub as and if required.
- Proactively identifies and suggests improvements to financial processes within NRC and IPs.
- Maintains proper filing of supporting documents for NRC and IPs to ensure audit readiness.
Required Experience
- Minimum three years of experience in Finance and/or accounting related field, preferably within a humanitarian context.
- Experience of working with ERP systems.
- Previous experience working with Local Partners is an asset.
- Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts.
Qualifications
• University degree in finance, accounting, or relevant field.
