Overview

This internship supports the Reham Al-Farra Memorial Journalism Fellowship programme within the Visitors Services Section, engaging and educating people worldwide about the United Nations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing and posting social media content (text, images, videos, infographics).
  • Interact with followers, respond to comments and messages on social media.
  • Monitor social media metrics and contribute to reports.
  • Support other units in VSS with daily duties, including at the Public Inquiries Counter and with the Teach the UN initiative.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Required Experience

Applicants are not required to have professional work experience. A field of study related to the internship is required. Good knowledge of software applications, especially MS Word and MS PowerPoint, is required. Ability to manage social media accounts (Facebook and X), drafting short posts and texts for social media and information materials is required.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent), or (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).

Fluency in English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another official language of the United Nations is an advantage.

Remuneration
This internship is unpaid. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
