Overview
This internship provides support for projects with external partners, monitoring social media, planning events, and drafting communications materials for the Department of Global Communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing support for projects undertaken with external partners from the entertainment or sports industries, such as drafting of background materials, taking meeting notes, etc.
- Providing support for monitoring and reporting on social media activities of the Messengers of Peace and other influencers in support of the UN; and collating metrics on advocacy engagement.
- Providing support for the planning and organization of special events, filming projects and other in-person activities at UN Headquarters.
- Providing support for drafting, formatting, editing and posting original content for the team's two websites.
- Providing support for the drafting of communications materials, including concept notes, talking points, presentations and press releases.
- Providing support for monitoring the applications to the Football for the Goals membership daily and process the application as well as assisting with the planning and executing of FFTG Member Convenings and other events.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work. experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Qualifications
- be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
- be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams. Please detail if you have other skills such as graphic designs, photography or video editing.
