Overview
Business support Finance Assistant (e) assures support for the effective execution of financial transactions in support of the World Food Programme management, with a particular focus on financial transactions in the areas of intervention.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure bank reconciliation of WFP accounts and petty cash.
- Initiate payments on GPS.
- Produce various data, compile and prepare reports.
- Execute beneficiary payments within the framework of CBT (Cash-Based Transfer) with Ecobank Omni, MTN and Orange applications.
- Provide procedural and technical support to staff in finance.
- Support the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Monitor daily cash flow situation.
- Monitor the centralized registry system (ITS and GPS).
- Contribute to the preparation, implementation and monitoring of budgets.
- Ensure and follow standard emergency preparedness practices.
- Monitor account balances and process financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Track and process financial requests in the GSMT system.
- Compile data from WFP databases and systems.
- Perform any other tasks within the scope of work.
Required Experience
• Minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience at increasingly higher levels of responsibility, including at least two (2) in financial or related fields within a project/programme, in the public or private sector.
Qualifications
• At least a Bachelor's degree (Bac + 3) or equivalent diploma in Finance, Business Administration, Management, Economic Sciences, or Audit.
