Overview

The Legal Analyst will support the implementation of a project focused on improving water and sanitation services, ensuring alignment with legal frameworks and sustainable development goals.


Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze national and international legal frameworks related to ESG standards, public accountability, and transparency.
  • Identify legal obligations and best practices for public sustainability reporting and corporate disclosure.
  • Provide legal input for the development of a Public Sustainability and Accountability Report Model.
  • Advise on legal aspects of publishing and disclosing institutional performance data.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection, access to information laws, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Identify potential legal risks associated with sustainability information disclosure and propose mitigation measures.
  • Support the legal review of the socio-environmental diagnostic report.
  • Analyze company programs and policies from a legal perspective.
  • Contribute to identifying priority areas for sustainable interventions.
  • Review legal frameworks related to gender equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Ensure sustainability reporting incorporates relevant legal standards for gender and diversity.
  • Advise on legal risks and compliance measures for workforce diversity data.
  • Provide legal support in drafting, reviewing, and validating project documents.
  • Ensure deliverables align with institutional policies and quality control.
  • Liaise with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders on legal considerations.
  • Support consultations by clarifying legal aspects.
  • Maintain organized records of legal analyses.
  • Attend meetings and conferences to strengthen project presence.
  • Undertake other duties within expertise to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.
  • Complete indicated courses and training activities, including the BSAFE security course.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in designing, reviewing, or implementing projects/programmes related to public policies in Brazil is desirable.
  • Experience in legal analysis is required.
  • Experience with water and sanitation is desirable.
  • Previous experience working in the United Nations is desirable.
Qualifications

• Bachelor in Law or related fields is required, or additional three (3) years of relevant experience to the post, beyond the requirement.

• Fluency in Portuguese is required.

• Working knowledge of Spanish and/or English is desirable.
