Overview
Provides administrative support within the Human Rights Service of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan, focusing on human resources, budget, finance, and general administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviews and processes HR actions such as recruitment, performance appraisal, training, relocation, and separation.
- Oversees staff data and attendance records, acting as a backup leave monitor.
- Liaises with administrative and Mission Support offices.
- Assists with maintaining Job Opening files and tracking recruitment status.
- Provides information and advice to staff/consultants on conditions of service.
- Supports and coordinates work plan and budget preparation.
- Consolidates data for budget reviews and implements resource reallocation.
- Reviews expenditure status against approved budget.
- Reviews requisitions for goods and services.
- Assists in budget performance submissions.
- Prepares statistical tables and financial reports.
- Prepares and processes administrative arrangements for official travel.
- Drafts routine correspondence and responds to enquiries.
- Maintains files of rules, regulations, and administrative instructions.
- Maintains up-to-date work unit files in SharePoint.
- Consolidates monthly requests for office supplies.
- Performs other related administrative duties.
- Assists with data collection, analysis, and report preparation.
- Assists with visualizations and updating information material.
Required Experience
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in administration, finance, budget, accounting, audit, human resources or related area is required.
- The minimum year of relevant experience is reduced to three (3) years for candidates who possess a first level university degree in Administration, finance, budget, accounting, audit, human resources or management.
- Experience in a broad range of administrative functions, e.g., budget/work programme, human resources, database management, etc., is required.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications and spreadsheets is required.
- Experience in the application of various United Nations administrative, financial, and human resources rules and regulations in work situations is desirable.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- University degree in business administration, management, human resources, finance or similar fields is desirable.
