Overview
The fellowship focuses on developing and implementing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) components for training programs and contributing to digital solutions for sustainable development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Future Tech Leaders Brazil training components on GIS, including planning and preparing materials, hosting office hours, teaching, and monitoring learner progress.
- Support Frontier Tech Leaders & Future Tech Leaders Portuguese speaking implementations, including organizing community events and facilitating communications.
- Develop and implement digital solutions for SDGs utilizing GIS, including geospatial data processing, analysis, and creation of cartographic products.
- Provide support to the Chief Technical Advisor for AI, Digital Transformation and Skills as required.
Required Experience
- Proven experience with GIS software and libraries such as QGIS or ArcGIS, GDAL, Rasterio, Geopandas, Fiona or similar.
- Experience with Geoserver, PostGIS and other relational databases preferred.
- Practical experience in implementing automated workflows with geodata and scripting, particularly with Jupyter Notebook (or similar).
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a postgraduate program (such as a Master’s program or higher).
- Field of study: Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Data Science, Geodesics, Cartography, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar.
