Overview
The E T Consultant will support analytical, research, and operational activities for the Inspection Panel, focusing on Requests for Inspection and compliance with World Bank operational policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce high quality research on issues presented to the Panel.
- Conduct rigorous research and prepare background documents.
- Support the review, summary, and analysis of documents.
- Support the review of Management Responses and action plans.
- Support the preparation of Board briefings.
- Assist in carrying out research projects related to advisory publications.
- Support systemic tasks related to the Case Management System, complaint registration, data harmonization, and exploring AI use.
- Support research on developments in other International Financial Institutions’ and Multilateral Development Banks’ accountability mechanisms.
- Track and analyze related current events, public opinion, social or political issues, and other related developments.
- Assist in the preparation of the Panel’s outreach activities.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience working in compliance specifically in relation to Environmental and Social issues with familiarity on the impact of these issues in the context of World Bank projects.
- Skills and experience liaising with communities from diverse geographies including those from remote areas and ability to communicate to them in a culturally appropriate and understandable way.
- Familiarity with the World Bank Operational Portal, financing instruments, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge and understanding of the functions and operations of the World Bank Group.
Qualifications
Bachelors/Masters’ degree (e.g., in Economics, Science, International Development, or related discipline).
