Overview

The National Programme Support Officer supports the planning, budgeting, implementation, liaison, communications, and reporting for relevant projects and programmes under the supervision of the Programme Support Coordinator.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the coordination and monitoring of operational, administrative and financial aspects of programme support.
  • Keep supervisor informed on project implementation status, identify gaps and suggest actions.
  • Participate in the development and adjustment of work plans, project budgets, M&E tools and SOPs.
  • Coordinate data collection, verification and analysis; update information management systems and social media platforms.
  • Coordinate timely preparation and dissemination of project reports.
  • Liaise and coordinate with donors, partners, UN agencies, local authorities and government counterparts.
  • Contribute to planning, development, organization and delivery of capacity building activities.
  • Attend relevant conferences, workshops, working groups and interagency coordination meetings.
  • Participate in the preparation of project proposals, communication products, concept notes and planning documents.
  • Supervise and provide training and technical guidance to project staff.
  • Undertake duty travel relating to project implementation, monitoring visits, assessments and liaison.
Required Experience
  • Two years of relevant professional experience;
  • Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
  • Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups;
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution;
  • Master’s degree in the above-mentioned fields.
