Overview

Provide finance and administrative support for the sound financial management of the Mayors Challenge in Beira, Mozambique. Assist with routine financial and administrative tasks, procurement, documentation, reporting, and knowledge sharing.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in routine financial and administrative tasks related to project implementation;
  • Maintain proper filing and record-keeping of financial and administrative documents;
  • Support the preparation and organization of payment and supporting documents;
  • Assist in updating expenditure tracking sheets and basic financial records;
  • Support the filing and organization of procurement and contract documentation;
  • Assist in maintaining complete and updated administrative records;
  • Help track the status of routine administrative and financial documents;
  • Receive payment requests from providers, check invoices, prepare justification narrative reports and liaise with UNDP for payment processing;
  • Assist in compiling supporting documents for financial and administrative reports;
  • Support the organization of records for audits, reviews, and verification processes;
  • Contribute to maintaining transparency, accuracy, and confidentiality in project documentation;
  • Participate in training on internal procedures for project staff and provide support to the organization of training and other capacity building activities;
  • Make sound contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
Required Experience
  • Minimum four (4) years (with secondary education) or one (1) year (with bachelor’s degree) of relevant professional experience including:
  • Financial and administrative support;
  • Record keeping and document management;
  • Budget tracking and expenditure monitoring;
  • Support procurement, contracts, or project administration.
Qualifications
  • Secondary education is required;
  • A university degree (bachelor´s degree) in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field will be given due consideration, but it is not a requirement.
