Overview
The RBA Communications Intern will be responsible for website management, including updating websites in French and English, and supporting the Communications team in developing digital content and monitoring impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing and maintaining UNDP Regional Bureau for Africa websites in English and in French
- Uploading various types of content daily
- Translating content from English to French and from French to English to harmonize content on both platforms
- Playing an active role in sharing new content with staff and partners
- Working closely with the Social Media Specialist and the Graphic Designer to produce cutting edge content
- Developing basic infographics to illustrate web content
- Supporting knowledge management efforts and contributing to the management of visual data banks
- Monitoring usage and impact using analytics, and monitoring Country Offices and other Regional websites to cross-post content and increase communication impact.
Required Experience
- Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs
- Preferably some relevant experience in communications, international development or related area
- Knowledge of the UN system is an advantage
- Excellent analytical skills are required
- Experience designing infographics is an advantage
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher in Economics, African Studies, History, Social Science, International Development, Development Studies, or other relevant fields)
- Have graduated with a university degree (as described above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.
