Overview
The Driver is responsible for performing driving services for FAO Country Office staff and official visitors, and providing other pick-up, delivery, and messenger services. The role ensures the safety and comfort of passengers and the longevity of assigned vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive FAO Representative, visitors, and country office staff on official trips.
- Meet FAO staff and visitors at the airport and facilitate formalities.
- Record log of official trips, mileage, gas consumption, expenditures, and servicing.
- Ensure day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle and perform minor repairs.
- Distribute and collect mail/pouch to and from Government offices and other locations.
- Handle local and organizational formalities in case of accidents.
- Collect and deliver mail, documents, pouches, and other items.
- Assist with simple clerical duties when needed.
- Perform any other assigned duties.
Required Experience
- A minimum of three years’ work experience as a driver in a recognized and reputed organization with a flawless, safe driving record.
- Previous experience of working with UN agencies is an asset.
Qualifications
• At minimum a School Leaving Certificate (SLC) or Secondary Education Examination (SEE) must be completed.
