Overview

The Monitoring Assistant supports field monitoring, data collection, and reporting for WFP activities in the southern regions of the Kyrgyz Republic. The position contributes to evidence-based decision-making, programme learning, and accountability to affected populations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Verify planned movements and distribution of food or non-food items.
  • Collect and summarise assistance programme data, conduct analysis and prepare reports.
  • Liaise with cooperating partners and internal counterparts to gather feedback.
  • Suggest improvements to field monitoring processes and procedures.
  • Arrange regular meetings with community leaders and cooperating partners.
  • Allocate tasks to other staff, providing guidance and on-the-job training.
  • Provide standard trainings for cooperating partners on WFP operational practices.
  • Prepare field mission reports.
  • Follow set emergency response processes and procedures.
  • Support the implementation of monitoring plans, including data collection tools.
  • Support compliance with corporate monitoring and reporting standards.
  • Maintain high data quality through systematic data cleaning, verification, and documentation.
  • Verify monitoring data submitted by Programme units and cooperating partners.
  • Support baseline, midline, and endline assessments.
  • Conduct timely monitoring data collection and processing activities.
  • Strengthen internal coordination and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to the capacity strengthening of government counterparts and cooperating partners.
  • Support the Monitoring and Analysis Assistant.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the Research, Analysis, and Monitoring unit.
  • Contribute to the overall office work.
Required Experience
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in programme or monitoring related functions, development, government aid programme, general administrative work or other related fields.
  • Experience supporting field monitoring activities, including collection, verification, and summarization of programme output and outcome data, using quantitative and qualitative data collection methods.
  • Experience contributing to monitoring reports and basic analysis to support programme reviews, learning, and decision-making.
  • Experience working with monitoring or reporting tools and systems, preferably within WFP or a similar international organization, and applying established monitoring and evaluation standards and procedures.
  • Experience coordinating with cooperating partners, local authorities, or community stakeholders to support monitoring activities and ensure timely and accurate data collection in field settings.
Qualifications
  • Completion of secondary school education.
  • A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area.

• Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station and in the duty station’s language, if different.
