Overview

Provide support across a range of DTM route-based activities, including research, analysis, reporting, and project support for a joint initiative to harmonize data collection methodologies.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to qualitative and mixed-methods data analysis for route-based research initiatives.
  • Support the production of route-based analytical outputs, including thematic reports, presentations, and infographics.
  • Support the analysis and preparation of outputs related to intention surveys targeting Syrian migrants.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of data collection tools, methodological guidance, and research instruments.
  • Contribute to global route-based analytical products.
  • Support the preparation and review of data products, reports, and web content for the DTM data portal.
  • Respond to route-based data and information requests.
  • Assist with the implementation of a joint IOM and UNHCR initiative to harmonise data collection methodologies.
  • Contribute to the mapping of existing data systems, tools, and terminologies.
  • Support engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
Required Experience
  • Experience with data visualisation and publication software, including the Adobe suite (Illustrator and InDesign).
  • At least two years of relevant professional experience in data analysis, research, or a related field, preferably within a migration, humanitarian, or development context.
  • Demonstrated experience in qualitative and/or quantitative data analysis, including the use of statistical or data visualization tools.
  • Experience contributing to the production of analytical reports, policy briefs, or research outputs, including drafting, editing, and formatting.
  • Experience supporting the production of country-level or regional migration reports and analysis along key global migration routes.
  • Experience working in the United Nations (UN) or other international development organizations is considered an asset.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Social and Political Sciences, Development Studies, Information Management, Migration Studies or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or,
  • University degree in the above fields with two years of relevant professional experience.

Languages Required
Fluency in English and French is required (oral and written).
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish) is an advantage.
Contract Duration
6 months with possibility of extension
