Overview

The incumbent will support the Regional Thematic Unit for Climate Action by providing thematic expertise and resource mobilization support to Country Offices in the Region.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support capacity building, training, monitoring and evaluation and technical support to Country Offices on thematic areas of relevance to Climate Action and Mobility.
  • Support the reviewing, endorsing and tracking of project proposals and reports developed by Country Offices.
  • Identify emerging issues relevant to the thematic area and contribute to the development of thematic policy and reports.
  • Serve as a resource person for Country Offices by providing insights in the latest policy and research developments and best practices.
  • Support the development of regional/multi-country projects.
  • Support with drafting and developing regional thematic guidance notes, information sheets, and tools.
  • Prepare internal reports, presentations, talking points, speeches, statements and briefings.
  • Contribute to ongoing knowledge management processes.
  • Coordinate incoming requests from internal or external partners in the absence of the CAD RTS.
  • Participate in conferences, workshops and meetings related to the thematic area.
Required Experience
  • Four years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or six years of relevant experience with a High School diploma.
  • Experience in the field of migration and climate change issues, including operational and field experience, with project management and thematic experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in climate action and mobility relevant to project development.
  • Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, other national/international institutions, private sector and NGOs.
  • Work experience in climate action and mobility in the Region is an asset.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, Business Administration, Environmental and Climate studies, Migration Studies, International Relations, Law, or related field.
  • High School diploma.
