Overview
The Generator Mechanic will perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, modification, and repair of electronic engine controlled power generators and assist with facility maintenance and electrical duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Trouble shooting, diagnosing, modifying, and repairing of electronic engine controlled power generators with capacity ranging from 20KVA to 350KVA s.
- Perform preventative maintenance, routine service/maintenance and inspections on standby generators.
- Trouble shooting, diagnosing and repair of generator automatic transfer switches (ATS).
- Preparations and installation of generators from 20KVA to 350KVA generators.
- Routine check and keep log of generator operation, maintenance, service records, and refuelling of generators at UNMOGIP HQ and all Field Stations.
- Visit to UN field Stations upon demand/ request from field stations and carry out related repair/maintenance, as authorized.
- Keep up to date inventory of generators, spare parts and other unit assets.
- Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of office and building facilities, including fixtures, fittings, and structural elements.
- Assist with the installation, service and maintenance in compliance with Local and International IEC standards pertaining to all types electrical systems including electrical circuits, light fixtures, appliances, control devices, electrical motors and pumps, diesel generators, inverters and uninterruptible power supply systems.
- Performs other duties as required.
Required Experience
A minimum of three (03) years practical experience in installation, repair and servicing of generators in a private, commercial, or military environment is required.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Vocational certificate/Diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
