Overview

Support the implementation of social policy and social protection initiatives, with a focus on governance for children and public finance at regional and local levels.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of social protection activities under Project CARES.
  • Assist in reviewing technical documents, submissions, and reports from MSSD.
  • Assist in ensuring effective coordination and engagement with regional ministries, local government units, and development partners.
  • Provide close monitoring of the implementation status of activities under the Child Nutrition Fund.
  • Contribute to the preparation of social sectors budget and expenditure reviews, policy notes, and advocacy briefs.
  • Assist the Mindanao Field Office team in the development of social sectors budget and expenditure analysis.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support in capacity-building initiatives.
  • Maintain updated knowledge and documentation systems.
Required Experience
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in social protection, public financial management, and governance for children or another related area acquired at national and/or international level.
  • Experience working in BARMM or a similar fragile context is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability or experience in budget preparation, budget analysis, or public finance-related work for projects or government entities.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Economics, Public Administration, Governance, Social Sciences

Fluency in a local dialect of BARMM is desirable.
Contract Duration
12 months (with possibility of extension)

Remuneration
Entry Lump Sum Allowance, Monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) for the National UN Volunteer Specialist based in Cotabato City in the Philippines; Insurance Coverage; Annual Leave of 2.5 days per month; Access to UNV’s learning and career development resources; and Exit Lump Sum Allowance (1-month VLA/12 months) payable upon successful completion of the assignment.
