Overview

The Reporting and Field Information Officer will collect, compile, and synthesize operational information from field teams and partners to produce timely and accurate updates. The role supports rapid information gathering during emergencies and contributes to various reporting products.


Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, compile, and synthesize routine operational information from field teams, partners, and government counterparts.
  • Review and edit inputs from programme sections.
  • Support rapid information gathering and documentation during emergencies.
  • Prepare concise flash updates reflecting urgent needs, immediate response actions, gaps, and coordination requirements.
  • Compile field monitoring highlights by synthesizing findings from field missions, TPM reports, programme monitoring, and partners’ inputs.
  • Gather qualitative information, beneficiary voices, photos, and field narratives to support reporting and communication products.
  • Draft human-interest stories and short features.
  • Prepare visually engaging slide decks summarizing state-level and area-level general information.
  • Develop briefing notes, talking points, and meeting summaries.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining information management tools, trackers, and repositories.
  • Provide basic capacity-building support to UNICEF colleagues and partners on reporting templates and documentation standards.
  • Provide general assistance to the Planning & Monitoring team.
Required Experience
  • 4 years of professional experience in reporting, field information management, humanitarian documentation, programme support, monitoring, or communication roles in development or emergency settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and synthesize qualitative and quantitative information into high-quality narrative reports, operational updates, briefs, and presentation materials.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Experience producing content such as situation updates, flash updates, success stories, donor visibility materials, or field narratives.
  • Experience working in complex humanitarian environments, preferably with UN agencies, INGOs, NNGOs, or government partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple reporting deadlines within tight timelines.
  • Familiarity with information management concepts, reporting workflows, or data validation processes is an advantage.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and operate in challenging contexts with limited resources.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in International Development/Humanitarian Studies, Communications, Journalism/public relations, or other relevant fields.

- Monthly Volunteer Living allowance (VLA) at amount of 1,597.25 USD. - danger and Hardship Differential DHD: 575. USD. - Annual and learning leaves. - Free Medical and life insurance.
