Overview

Assist in public information activities for the United Nations Police Division within the Department of Peace Operations. The role supports media monitoring, outreach, and communication efforts.


Key Responsibilities
  • - Assist in monitoring media coverage of United Nations Police and international relations issues.
  • - Assist with media outreach and events.
  • - Assist in United Nations Police policy, communication and outreach activities.
  • - Research, compile, draft and edit basic information for public information and policy materials.
  • - Assist with the maintenance of and help develop United Nations Police Social Media tools.
  • - Assist in liaison with police public information focal points in peace operations.
  • - Assist in the preparation of policy and outreach material.
  • - Administrative duties related to event organization, website management and preparing public information materials.
  • - Support day to day activities in the Office of Police Adviser.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualifications
  • - Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • - OR be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • - A field of study that is closely related to the type of internship is required.
Other Details
Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
