Overview
The consultant will support the implementation of the project "Building capacity and connections in Technical Assistance for Social Housing (ATHIS)" by developing training plans and materials, and coordinating training activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop initial premises and identify priority thematic areas for the ATHIS training plan and materials.
- Use evidence from research and data collection to inform the design, implementation, and prioritization of ATHIS capacity-building activities.
- Design and develop the ATHIS training course across three distinct tracks, preparing track-specific curricula.
- Coordinate and monitor the implementation of the ATHIS training, proposing improvements.
- Review and oversee deliverables and reports produced by training facilitators.
- Compile learning assessment results and develop the final report on the capacity-building programme.
- Engage and coordinate with international and local experts.
- Develop assessment tools and evaluation methods to measure learner progress and course effectiveness.
- Prepare and deliver reports on course development, launch, and outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with copyright, data protection, and accessibility standards.
- Provide technical support and follow the development of a methodology handbook.
- Provide support to the implementation of collaborative activities and training on Monitoring and Evaluation tools.
- Design and apply mechanisms to assess participants’ learning outcomes and compile/analyze results.
- Participate in field missions as required.
- Complete all indicated courses and training activities, including the BSAFE security course.
Required Experience
- A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in urban development, housing programmes, and/or public policy is required.
- Experience in teaching, pedagogical project design and training material development, preferably in housing and urban development topics, is required.
- Experience in leading teams/staff is desirable.
- Experience with social housing is desirable.
- Experience with South-South Cooperation is desirable.
- Previous experience working in the United Nations is desirable.
Qualifications
• Postgraduate degree (Lato Sensu or Stricto Sensu) in Architecture and Urbanism, Geography, Economy, Public Policy, Public Administration, Sociology, Law, Social Work, Social Sciences, or related fields is required, or additional four (4) years of relevant experience to the post, beyond the requirement.
