Overview
The role aims to strengthen community participation and social governance mechanisms, manage risks, and ensure an operational monitoring, evaluation, and reporting system to support UN Habitat's interventions in the DRC.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy mobilization strategies.
- Strengthen local land management bodies and community policing committees.
- Support Free, Informed and Prior Consent (FIP) consultations.
- Identify, assess, and update risks and propose mitigation measures.
- Set up and manage the monitoring and evaluation system.
- Ensure quality, reliability, and traceability of project data.
- Contribute to UN-Habitat's communication plan.
- Produce periodic reports.
- Facilitate activities related to gender, inclusion, PSEA/GBV, and complaints management.
- Contribute to project learning.
- Participate in operational or training activities.
Required Experience
- A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant and progressively responsible working experience in local governance, community mobilization and leadership is required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in local governance, community mobilization and leadership is required.
- Good knowledge of project management, reporting and monitoring and evaluation is required.
- Advanced knowledge in empowering community actors, particularly in environmental management, humanitarian aid and/or local security is required.
- Familiarity with land and urban management is desirable.
- Experience in the United Nations work and with government structures is desirable.
Qualifications
- Completion of a high school diploma is required.
- Supplemental training in Social Sciences, Political Science, Law or related field is desirable.
