Overview
The Technical Advisor will support the implementation of a project to improve the quality of basic water and sanitation services, ensuring inclusive, gender-responsive, sustainable solutions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Technically coordinate the elaboration of outputs according to programme documents and agreements.
- Prepare and review deliverables according to agreed outcomes and indicators.
- Gather inputs and coordinate the preparation of workplans, periodic narrative progress reports and expenditures status reports.
- Ensure programme implementation as per the work plan.
- Establish systems for programme planning, implementation and monitoring.
- Anticipate and mitigate risks to products.
- Provide information for the systematization and exchange of successful practices and experiences.
- Ensure technical activities align with quality expectations.
- Provide technical support on localizing international agreements and frameworks.
- Record and maintain documents on programme activities, issues, and risks.
- Maintain relationships with local partners.
- Ensure effective and efficient communication with counterparts and local partners.
- Identify capacity building needs and support partners.
- Gather and compile information for monitoring and reporting.
- Monitor the implementation of activities and expenditure of funds.
- Draft and provide inputs to annual and quarterly reports.
- Document product implementation.
- Contribute to the exchange of information and development of knowledge products.
- Coordinate the organization of advocacy campaigns, events, trainings, workshops and knowledge products.
- Attend meetings and conferences promoted by partners.
- Undertake other duties within incumbent's expertise to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
Required Experience
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience in designing, reviewing, or implementing projects/programmes related to urban planning, water and sanitation and/or infrastructure in urban communities in Brazil is required.
- Experience in project management is required.
- Experience with water and sanitation is desirable.
- Previous experience working in the United Nations is desirable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor in Architecture and Urbanism, Geography, Law, Economics, International Relations, Biology, or related fields is required, or additional three (3) years of relevant experience to the post, beyond the requirement.
- Postgraduate degree (Lato Sensu or Stricto Sensu) in Architecture and Urbanism, Geography, Sociology, Law, Social Work, Social Sciences, Biology or related fields is desirable.
