Overview
The role involves supporting the implementation of advisory mandates for public-private partnerships (PPP) transactions, including preparation of reports, client interactions, financial modeling, and drafting bidding terms of reference.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in business development including preparation of proposals, mandates, marketing documents, roadshows, and information memorandums.
- Work on several mandates simultaneously with different project teams, focusing on Mass Transit PPPs and/or school or hospital Private Finance Initiatives (PFIs).
- Support project scoping to assess feasibility, prepare and/or review financial models and financial analysis.
- Manage project execution, including preparing notes, minutes, presentations, and documentation for internal approval processes and clients.
- Coordinate project implementation with consultants, preparing their ToRs, supervising hiring, liaising during implementation, and supervising deliverables and quality control.
- Prepare applications for project funding from donors.
- Coordinate closely with other parts of IFC including environmental and social, legal, other advisory and investment departments.
- Understand the World Bank program for assigned countries and work with them to assess opportunities for PPPs.
- Perform other duties as requested by senior members of the team.
- Develop expertise in IFC processes and internal systems management.
- Develop capacity to manage tasks with relatively little supervision and potentially act as team leader for individual projects.
Required Experience
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience gained with a leading financial institution working on PPP and/or PFI transaction advisory, project finance, M&A, privatization advisory or private equity.
- Ability and proven track-record to develop financial modeling in project finance and strong analytical skills.
- Understanding of PPPs and PFIs and different structures for engaging the private participation in the delivery of infrastructure services in different markets.
- Strong track record of contractual and/or financial closings of infrastructure transactions in different markets.
- Experience in dealing with government clients, investors and multiple stakeholders of infrastructure projects.
- Experience in infrastructure sectors with knowledge of sector trends, legal and regulatory requirements will be considered a plus.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills and ability to operate in large, culturally diverse and geographically dispersed teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver high quality work within tight deadlines.
Qualifications
MBA or equivalent Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
