Overview

Support the Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN) Programme in conducting research on the business case for nature in biodiversity-dependent sectors in Jordan.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct desk research on sectors that directly depend on biodiversity and ecosystem services.
  • Analyze how biodiversity is integrated into and interacts with business models and operations within these sectors.
  • Identify economic risks associated with biodiversity loss.
  • Identify nature-positive business opportunities and practices within these sectors.
  • Compile and analyze case studies demonstrating the economic value of biodiversity, impacts of ecosystem degradation, and successful nature-positive business models.
  • Summarize findings into clear and structured research outputs.
Required Experience
  • Background or strong interest in environmental studies, economics, business, sustainable development, or related fields.
  • Experience in conducting desk research and analytical writing.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize information across sectors (e.g., agriculture, tourism, water, natural resources).
  • Ability to understand and explain how environmental factors interact with economic activities and business models.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely.
  • Attention to detail and ability to structure information in a logical and organized manner.
  • Familiarity with biodiversity, ecosystem services, or sustainability concepts is an asset.
