Overview
Support the Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN) Programme in conducting research on the business case for nature in biodiversity-dependent sectors in Jordan.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct desk research on sectors that directly depend on biodiversity and ecosystem services.
- Analyze how biodiversity is integrated into and interacts with business models and operations within these sectors.
- Identify economic risks associated with biodiversity loss.
- Identify nature-positive business opportunities and practices within these sectors.
- Compile and analyze case studies demonstrating the economic value of biodiversity, impacts of ecosystem degradation, and successful nature-positive business models.
- Summarize findings into clear and structured research outputs.
Required Experience
- Background or strong interest in environmental studies, economics, business, sustainable development, or related fields.
- Experience in conducting desk research and analytical writing.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize information across sectors (e.g., agriculture, tourism, water, natural resources).
- Ability to understand and explain how environmental factors interact with economic activities and business models.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely.
- Attention to detail and ability to structure information in a logical and organized manner.
- Familiarity with biodiversity, ecosystem services, or sustainability concepts is an asset.
