Overview

Lead the strategic development, technical quality, and scale-up of NRC’s Education Core Competency in Haiti, including programme design, fundraising, technical oversight, and support to implementation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop/Update the Education strategy, technical SoPs / guidelines and Macro Log-frames (MLF) inclusive of partnerships.
  • Ensure compliance with and adherence to NRC policies, Global Education Strategy, Education tools, handbooks and guidelines.
  • Responsible for programme development and roll-out of relevant tools, SOPs and guidelines.
  • Contribute to funding proposals, budget development, and donor reporting related to the Education Core Competency.
  • Define, develop and grow NRC Haiti’s Education portfolio.
  • Ensure alignment with the NRC Global and LARO Regional Strategy and contribute to the Education Global/Regional tools, guidelines, policy and research studies.
  • Lead education needs assessments, country-wide education mapping and analysis and response analysis.
  • Provide technical oversight to programme implementation, including through local partners.
  • Lead mentoring, training and capacity strengthening of staff and partners.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience from a senior level project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • Experience from working in complex, high risk and volatile contexts.
  • Managerial experience with a focus on strategy and programme development desirable.
  • Technical Education expertise, in particular education in emergencies, non-formal education, and psychosocial support.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Experience in team and partners capacity development.
  • Experience with youth and adolescent and psychosocial support programming.
  • A clear interest and understanding of humanitarian issues from emergency to protracted crisis.
  • A clear interest and understanding of Protection Mainstreaming (Safe and Inclusive Programming).
  • Experience with start-up of new operations (or similar).
Qualifications

• Degree in International Relations, Education or Social Sciences (Master’s degree in social sciences, Humanitarian Affairs or Project Management, or related fields would be advantageous).

Languages Required
• Fluency in French and English, both written and verbal
Languages Preferred
• Haitian Creole will be considered an asset

12 months (renewable subject to funding and performance)
