Overview
The intern will support the middle office team in the various activities and processes managed by Middle Office within the Office of Investment Management of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain visual process maps and flowcharts for Middle Office operations, supported by version-controlled documentation and detailed change logs.
- Support the automation of workflows to reduce manual intervention across post trade process, collateral reporting, and securities lending processes.
- Review and catalogue the various Corporate Action systems available on the market.
- Perform a comprehensive analysis of the global Pension Funds Securities’ Lending programs.
- Propose process improvements for identifying non-contractual income based on defined criteria and enhancing the accuracy and maintenance of the Securities Masterfile.
- Design and document automated workflows for KYC log maintenance and weekly commission reconciliation, incorporating Power BI for reporting and insights, and leveraging Copilot where appropriate to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Qualifications
- Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Teams.
