Overview

The consultant will oversee and coordinate data collection, analysis, and reporting efforts for the PROMIS project, focusing on trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants. The role involves leading workshops and drafting a country report.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and facilitate one (1) national Validation Workshop for the 2025 Trafficking in Persons Country Report.
  • Produce and submit one consolidated and technically sound final draft of the 2025 Trafficking in Persons Country Report.
  • Design and facilitate one (1) regional training workshop for law enforcement and relevant stakeholders on data collection and research methodologies related to smuggling of migrants in Nigeria (South-East and South-South).
  • Design and facilitate one (1) regional training workshop for law enforcement and relevant stakeholders on data collection and research methodologies related to smuggling of migrants in Nigeria (South-West and South-South).
  • Design and facilitate one (1) regional training workshop for law enforcement and relevant stakeholders on data collection and research methodologies related to smuggling of migrants in Nigeria (North-West, North-East and North-Central).
Required Experience

At least seven (07) years of experience with both quantitative and qualitative research methods, preferably in the field of crime and justice, trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants data collection and research exercises. Experience in developing reporting templates to guide data collection and research efforts. Experience in managing large datasets through statistical packages (including SPSS and Excel).

Qualifications

An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in social sciences, statistics, criminal justice, criminology or a related field is required. A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
