Overview
The Information Systems Specialist will assist in the design, development, and implementation of workflow automation and service request tracking systems within UNEP.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in the business analysis, development, and deployment of software solutions
- Assisting in the establishment, maintenance, and optimization of IT infrastructure
- Assisting with the preparation of data sets, responding to queries, and maintaining reports/dashboards
- Assisting in monitoring and troubleshooting system issues as they arise
- Assisting in performing routine system updates and upgrades as necessary
- Assisting in vulnerability identification, remediation, and monitoring of patches
- Assisting in implementing and managing continuous delivery systems and methodologies
- Assisting in troubleshooting and resolving issues in development, test, and production environments
- Documenting all processes, systems, and software updates in a clear and concise manner
Required Experience
- At least 3 years of work experience at the national level in software systems analysis and development, and infrastructure management.
- Experience in Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS ) administration and DevOps processes is required
- Understanding of core networking concepts, including networking topology, network security, virtualization, firewalls, load balancing, and Domain Name System (DNS ) is required
- Experience with infrastructure scripting solutions such as Shell or Python is desirable.
- Experience in software application development is desirable.
- Experience in databases such as MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL ) is desirable.
- Experience in cloud-based container platforms(Kubernetes, Docker) is desirable.
- Knowledge of data analytics principles is desirable
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in information systems, information technology, computer science, data science, data engineering, statistics or other related field of study.
