Overview

The intern will support the Library and the Communications and Knowledge Management Section (CKMS) in various tasks related to library, information, and knowledge management to raise the visibility of library resources and ESCAP work.


Key Responsibilities
  • - Taking part in the library's information management, knowledge management, and digital asset management tasks and initiatives
  • Development and enhancement of website statistics reporting tools
  • Perform testing on the organization’s websites.
  • Writing Python scripts to automate relevant tasks.
  • Researching about new features of open-source software used by the team.
  • Performing other related work, as required
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work.

Qualifications
  • be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
  • be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent).
  • have studied computer science or information technology/management is desirable.
  • Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams
Other Details
Languages Required
Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required for the internship programme.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of an additional ESCAP working language (Chinese, and Russian) is an asset.

This internship is unpaid. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
