Overview
The internship involves providing editorial support and information/knowledge management to the Documents Management Section of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation of a database of terminology for a United Nations compliant macro for spelling.
- Assist in developing an internal user-friendly “detailed checklist” for the consistent processing of publications and other materials.
- Assist in preparing updates of current processing forms, processing guides and related materials.
- Assist in updating and improving the Sharepoint intranet site of the Intergovernmental Outreach and Support Service.
- Conduct a review of the Sharepoint filing system of the Documents Management Section and support streamlining, improvement and cleanup of information.
- Attend key parliamentary meetings to observe needs, conduct and outcomes.
- Assist in drafting reports or taking-down notes/minutes of meetings and coordinating administrative requirements.
- Attend other meetings, as needed, and prepare notes for the file and short reports.
Required Experience
No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Qualifications
Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master's or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor's, Master's or PH.D. Programme.
