Overview

The intern will support the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in delivering project activities related to renewable energy and sustainable energy transition, including research and partnership development.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the management of the Global Dialogue on Environment and Energy, including newsletter dissemination, LinkedIn group facilitation, and contact list maintenance.
  • Assist with webinars and online/hybrid trainings, including data collection and reporting.
  • Conduct desk-based research on energy transition and social/environmental safeguards in renewable energy development.
  • Support partnership building with industry, academia, and civil society.
  • Assist with training and workshop report writing.
  • Provide support for logistics preparations for trainings and events.
Qualifications
  • Enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • OR enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in communications, environmental sciences, environmental policy, energy policy, climate change studies, renewable energy, or similar study area.
  • Strong interest and familiarity with social media and online communications.
  • Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
  • Experience in web-based content management systems.

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Remuneration
The Internship is UNPAID. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
