Overview
The intern will support the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in delivering project activities related to renewable energy and sustainable energy transition, including research and partnership development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the management of the Global Dialogue on Environment and Energy, including newsletter dissemination, LinkedIn group facilitation, and contact list maintenance.
- Assist with webinars and online/hybrid trainings, including data collection and reporting.
- Conduct desk-based research on energy transition and social/environmental safeguards in renewable energy development.
- Support partnership building with industry, academia, and civil society.
- Assist with training and workshop report writing.
- Provide support for logistics preparations for trainings and events.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
- OR enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in communications, environmental sciences, environmental policy, energy policy, climate change studies, renewable energy, or similar study area.
- Strong interest and familiarity with social media and online communications.
- Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
- Experience in web-based content management systems.
