Overview
Provide administrative and financial support to the Climate Change Division and specifically to the UN-REDD Africa team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and tracking of legal agreements, including SSFA or PCA, and UNEP consultant contracts.
- Monitor portfolio budgets and validate expenditure statements.
- Review progress reports.
- Coordinate programme/project planning and preparation, and monitor project financial documents.
- Participate in and follow-up on human resource activities, including recruitment and contract extensions.
- Process personnel actions in the UN SAP-based ERP system (Umoja).
- Support in organizing meetings/events, including technical support for virtual/hybrid meetings and logistics.
- Manage travel requests, including preparing travel approval requests and ensuring timely disbursement of allowances.
- Oversee the procurement process for DSA cash cards.
- Contribute to the proper processing and filing of legal obligations, such as expenditure, progress, final reports, and audit statements.
- Prepare payment requests.
- Undertake other administrative duties, including meeting organization and draft minute preparation.
Required Experience
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in finance, budget, accounting, administrative services, audit, or related area is required.
- Experience in the United Nations or other international organizations is an advantage.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Excel and the MS Office suite.
Qualifications
- Completion of High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A first-level university degree in finance, accounting, business or public administration, or related field is desirable.
