Overview
Support the gamma-spectrometry laboratory at the Terrestrial Environmental Radiochemistry (TERC) Laboratory by performing measurements of environmental samples and supporting quality assurance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the commissioning of gamma-spectrometry instrumentation and evaluation of analysis software.
- Perform measurements of candidate reference materials and contribute towards final technical reports.
- Support proficiency test activities including the characterisation of samples.
- Support quality assurance activities relevant to ISO17034.
- Produce a presentation detailing all work undertaken.
Required Experience
- The ability to work within a laboratory and undertake analytical tasks is required.
- Knowledge of radiometrology techniques including gamma-spectrometry is required.
Qualifications
University degree in Physics or a related Scientific discipline.
