Overview

Support the gamma-spectrometry laboratory at the Terrestrial Environmental Radiochemistry (TERC) Laboratory by performing measurements of environmental samples and supporting quality assurance activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the commissioning of gamma-spectrometry instrumentation and evaluation of analysis software.
  • Perform measurements of candidate reference materials and contribute towards final technical reports.
  • Support proficiency test activities including the characterisation of samples.
  • Support quality assurance activities relevant to ISO17034.
  • Produce a presentation detailing all work undertaken.
Required Experience
  • The ability to work within a laboratory and undertake analytical tasks is required.
  • Knowledge of radiometrology techniques including gamma-spectrometry is required.
Qualifications

University degree in Physics or a related Scientific discipline.

Excellent written and spoken English essential.
Languages Preferred
Fluency in any other IAEA official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is an asset.
