Overview
The Project Manager will be responsible and accountable for supporting and coordinating the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting activities of relevant projects within the Migration and Development unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the overall implementation of the projects, including oversight of financial, administrative and technical aspects.
- Provide operational guidance and supervision to project staff.
- Monitor progress against project strategic objectives and provide advice for improvements.
- Identify priority areas for project development and lead new project development.
- Supervise project staff, consultants and implementing partners.
- Plan, develop, organize and deliver capacity building activities.
- Support monitoring and compliance with project partners, staff and implementing entities.
- Liaise with Government entities, IPs, UN agencies and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate with other units in the Country Office for smooth implementation of project activities.
- Coordinate information management on project related activities.
- Draft quality financial, narrative, and other progress reports.
- Participate in relevant conferences, workshops, steering committees, and technical working groups.
- Participate in relevant UN working groups and activities.
- Undertake duty travel as required.
Required Experience
- Five years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in programme conceptualisation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation.
- Strong experience in project management and project development.
- Strong experience with financial management and administration.
- Experience in liaising with governmental and local authorities as well as with national and international institutions.
- Experience in managing consortia and working with implementing partners.
- Good understanding of internal and international migration issues in the country and in the Region.
- Experience in organizing consultations, workshops and seminars with stakeholders.
- In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization.
- Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.
- Previous experience with managing FCDO and/or EU funding is an advantage.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Humanitarian Affairs, Economic Development, Business or Public Administration, International Studies, or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
