Overview
Provide leadership and strategic direction for the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) to advance its strategic orientations in nuclear energy. The role involves guiding overall operations, coordinating the programme of work and budget, and promoting horizontal collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Office of the Secretary-General on policy advice in nuclear energy and safety.
- Maintain and further the leadership of the NEA in the nuclear field.
- Provide strategic input to the Programme of Work.
- Prepare the NEA Strategic Plan and implement Steering Committee decisions.
- Ensure the NEA remains at the forefront of technical and policy knowledge.
- Enhance the NEA's position in data collection, research projects, and policy dialogue.
- Oversee strategic planning and supervision of the Agency's activities.
- Collaborate in intra- and inter-directorate horizontal projects.
- Represent the Agency and the OECD at high-level meetings.
- Lead high-level missions to countries.
- Promote collaboration with other OECD Directorates/Agencies.
- Provide strategic direction and vision to the Agency’s work.
- Steer the development and execution of the Programme of Work and Budget.
- Mobilise and secure voluntary funding.
- Build and lead a cohesive, multicultural and multidisciplinary team.
- Foster and maintain a culture that delivers high-quality work.
Required Experience
- Extensive senior leadership experience in nuclear energy through work in a national administration, an international organisation, research institute or the private sector.
- Ability to manage a large number of specialists.
Qualifications
An advanced university degree in nuclear engineering or a related scientific discipline, preferably a PhD.
