Overview
Consultant to support the design, development, and implementation of strategic partnerships with private sector actors to advance program objectives related to food-grade maize initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop trial design with dryer manufacturer for food-grade maize, including planning, coordination, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Advise on collaboration with selected seed companies on food-grade maize piloting cultivation, including strategic advisory, monitoring, learning, and reporting.
- Prepare case study reports summarizing methodology, findings, lessons learned, and recommendations.
- Support development of scale-up strategies and business models for food-grade maize drying solutions.
- Contribute to technical notes, advisory briefs, and pilot summaries.
Required Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in Market Systems Development (MSD) / Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P) approaches, Agribusiness development (maize sector or similar value chains), and Private sector engagement and partnership facilitation.
- Proven experience working with smallholder farmers and farmer organizations, private sector actors (input suppliers, aggregators, off takers), and in multi-stakeholder environments.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in agriculture, Agribusiness, Economics, Rural Development, or a related field.
