Overview
Provides technical guidance to design and implement climate-smart agriculture (CSA) interventions that are evidence-based, locally relevant, and gender-responsive. The role focuses on integrating climate resilience with sustainable agriculture, promoting inclusive participation of youth, women, and vulnerable groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of climate risks and their impacts on local agricultural systems.
- Design climate-smart agriculture (CSA) interventions that improve productivity, adaptation, and mitigation outcomes.
- Lead in capacity building through designing and delivering training modules and practical trainings.
- Coordinate closely with local governments, NGOs, private sector actors, and community groups.
- Support development of a clear advocacy strategy that translates project evidence into policy-relevant messages.
- Ensure systematic capture, organization, and use of learning and knowledge generated throughout the project.
- Translate technical findings and project results into accessible communication products.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical advisory relevant to livelihood, agriculture and climate change, including budget management, monitoring and evaluation, and quality project reporting.
- Minimum of 3 years experience working in coordination with Government agencies/offices, NGOs, and INGOs for livelihood, agriculture and climate change.
- Experience working to provide technical assistance in responding to climate-smart livelihood is an asset.
Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree in social sciences, agriculture, business, economic, climate change or gender studies.
